A Gallery of Botched Jesus Restorations

First, if you’re not aware of the context, an elderly woman in Spain took it upon herself to try to restore a prized 100-year-old fresco in her local church. The results were highly subtastic.

Since the story broke, more volunteers have taken it upon themselves to restore other pieces of art using the same technique. As with almost all images on the internet, the origin of these is hard or impossible to trace. And so then, I salute their anonymous toil, and present here a gallery of their noble work.
