A Brief Explanation of my License Plate
For whatever reason, I've always liked having a personalized plate on my car. But something based on my name? Heaven forefend! It has to be a vague inside joke that only one in 500,000 people will get.
I've had "RDRR," a reference to an early Simpsons episode.
I've had "MAXPWR," a reference to a later Simpsons episode.
And now: RITOS. What the hell does that mean???
In Star Trek: Discovery, the crew wore these t-shirts during their off-duty and exersise hours.

In Star Trek: Lower Decks, the ship's name is the U.S.S. Cerritos, a California Class ship (they're all named after small towns in CA, like Solvang (RIP) and Fresno.) So, what does the crew wear in their off hours? RITOS shirts, of course.

And yes, I do have one.

I'm a big fan of Lower Decks. So naturally when I was trying to think of a personalized plate for my Massachusetts car, RITOS came to mind.
And, of course, nobody had taken that plate yet because I might be one of ten people in the whole state who will get the joke.

So here we are. I got a license plate whose meaning is so obscure I wrote a web page about it.
